Mass Limitations
The DA 62's mass limits depend on which modifications the individual aeroplane carries, so two airframes of the same type can have maximum take-off masses 301 kg apart. The baggage limits are the other trap: the rear compartment's total is not the sum of its sections.
At a glance
- Minimum flight mass1600 kg (printed as 3329 lb)
- Maximum take-off mass (MÄM 62-001)2300 kg (5071 lb)
- Maximum take-off mass (without MÄM 62-001)1999 kg (4407 lb)
- Maximum zero fuel mass2036 kg (4489 lb)
- Maximum zero fuel mass (MÄM 62-063)2200 kg (4850 lb)
- Maximum landing mass2300 kg (5071 lb)
- Nose baggage, each side30 kg (66 lb)
- Rear baggage total120 kg (265 lb)
- Rear baggage section A / B6 kg (13 lb) each
- Rear baggage section C68 kg (150 lb)
- Rear baggage section D40 kg (88 lb)
- Rear baggage total (OÄM 62-019)46 kg (101 lb)
Airframe masses
Minimum flight mass — 1600 kg; the same table prints its imperial equivalent as 3329 lb.
Maximum take-off mass — 2300 kg (5071 lb) if MÄM 62-001 is carried out.
Maximum take-off mass — 1999 kg (4407 lb) where MÄM 62-001 has not been done, and equally where OÄM 62-018 accompanies it.
Maximum zero fuel mass — 2036 kg (4489 lb), or 2200 kg (4850 lb) if MÄM 62-063 is carried out.
Maximum landing mass — 2300 kg (5071 lb).
Maximum landing mass equals the highest maximum take-off mass, so on an aeroplane with MÄM 62-001 there is no fuel to burn off before landing at full weight.
Baggage limits
Standard configuration
LH nose baggage compartment — 30 kg (66 lb); the same limit applies to the RH compartment.
Rear baggage compartment, total — 120 kg (265 lb).
Section A — 6 kg (13 lb); section B carries the same limit.
Section C — 68 kg (150 lb).
Section D — 40 kg (88 lb).
Add the sections and you get exactly 120 kg — but the total is its own limit, and each section must be respected on its own as well.
Seven-seat configuration
Rear baggage compartment, total — falls to 46 kg (101 lb) if OÄM 62-019 is carried out.
Sections E and F — the compartment then has sections E and F, with maxima of 6 kg (13 lb) and 40 kg (88 lb) respectively.
WARNING — Load the aeroplane past its mass limits and the structure is overstressed, with flight characteristics and performance degraded as well.
