Airspeed Calibration, Stall Speed and Takeoff Charts

The first charts convert indicated airspeed, give the stall speed for a weight and bank angle, and schedule the takeoff speeds for each weight.

    At a glance

    • Flaps up, 2550 lb (lift-off / 50 ft)60 / 65 KIAS
    • Flaps up, 2450 lb58 / 64 KIAS
    • Flaps up, 2350 lb57 / 63 KIAS
    • Flaps up, 2250 lb56 / 61 KIAS
    • Flaps 25°, 2550 lb (lift-off / 50 ft)55 / 60 KIAS
    • Flaps 25°, 2450 lb55 / 58 KIAS
    • Flaps 25°, 2350 lb53 / 56 KIAS
    • Flaps 25°, 2250 lb50 / 54 KIAS

    Airspeed system calibration

Figure 5-3 is drawn for 2550 lb gross weight, with curves for 0° and 40° flap, plotted against indicated airspeed that assumes zero instrument error.

    Power off stall speed

Figure 5-5 gives stall speed against weight and angle of bank, for 0°, 25° and 40° flaps, with the air conditioning OFF.

    Takeoff charts

The flaps-up takeoff charts, Figures 5-7 and 5-11, assume:

    • Full throttle before brake release

    • Air conditioner OFF

    • A paved, level and dry runway

    • The Sensenich 76EM8S14-0-62 propeller

    • Flaps UP

    Flaps-up takeoff speeds, lift-off / 50 ft

    • 2550 lb — 60 / 65 KIAS

    • 2450 lb — 58 / 64 KIAS

    • 2350 lb — 57 / 63 KIAS

    • 2250 lb — 56 / 61 KIAS

    Flaps 25° takeoff speeds, lift-off / 50 ft

    • 2550 lb — 55 / 60 KIAS

    • 2450 lb — 55 / 58 KIAS

    • 2350 lb — 53 / 56 KIAS

    • 2250 lb — 50 / 54 KIAS

    • For what weight and flap settings is the airspeed calibration chart drawn?

    • Against what two variables does the stall speed chart plot?

    • List the associated conditions of the flaps-up takeoff charts.

    • What are the flaps-up lift-off and 50 ft speeds at 2550 lb?

    • What are the flaps 25° speeds at 2550 lb?
