Fuel, Oil, Weights and Loadings
The general specifications set out what the airplane carries: fuel, oil, the weights it is approved for in each category, and how much baggage space there is. These are the figures behind every loading and fuel plan.

Fuel
The airplane uses aviation gasoline only. Total capacity is 50 U.S. gallons, of which 48 U.S. gallons are usable. The minimum octane is 100 (green) or 100LL (blue) aviation grade; alternate fuels are dealt with under the fuel requirements for servicing.
Oil
Oil capacity is 8 U.S. quarts. For the oil specification, use the latest issue of Lycoming Service Instruction 1014.
Oil viscosity by average ambient temperature for starting
Above 60°F: single S.A.E. 50; multi S.A.E. 40 or 50
30°F to 90°F: single S.A.E. 40; multi S.A.E. 40
0°F to 70°F: single S.A.E. 30; multi S.A.E. 40 or 20W-30
Below 10°F: single S.A.E. 20; multi S.A.E. 20W-30
Weights
Normal category
Maximum takeoff weight: 2440 lb
Maximum ramp weight: 2447 lb
Maximum landing weight: 2440 lb
Maximum weight in the baggage compartment: 200 lb
Utility category
Maximum takeoff weight: 2020 lb
Maximum ramp weight: 2027 lb
Maximum landing weight: 2020 lb
Maximum weight in the baggage compartment: 0 lb
The utility baggage figure is the one to remember: in the utility category the baggage compartment carries nothing.
Baggage space and specific loadings
The baggage compartment has a volume of 24 cubic feet. The specific loadings are a wing loading of 14.4 lb per square foot and a power loading of 15.3 lb per horsepower.
