Stalling Speeds
The stall table is built on the worst case: most forward centre of gravity, power off. Read across it by configuration and down it by mass, and then read the bank angle column — that is where the numbers really move.
At a glance
- Conditionsmost forward CG, power OFF
- 1800 kg (3968 lb), wings level68 / 67 / 63 KIAS
- 1999 kg (4407 lb), wings level70 / 69 / 64 KIAS
- 2300 kg (5071 lb), wings level73 / 71 / 69 KIAS
- 1800 kg, gear and flaps UP, 60° bank96 KIAS
- 2300 kg, gear and flaps UP, 60° bank103 KIAS
Where three figures are given they are, in order: gear and flaps UP; gear DOWN with flaps T/O; gear DOWN with flaps LDG.
Wings level
At 1800 kg (3968 lb) — 68 KIAS gear and flaps UP, 67 KIAS gear DOWN flaps T/O, 63 KIAS gear DOWN flaps LDG.
At 1999 kg (4407 lb) — 70 KIAS gear and flaps UP, 69 KIAS gear DOWN flaps T/O, 64 KIAS gear DOWN flaps LDG.
At 2300 kg (5071 lb) — 73 KIAS gear and flaps UP, 71 KIAS gear DOWN flaps T/O, 69 KIAS gear DOWN flaps LDG.
With bank
At 1800 kg (3968 lb) with gear and flaps UP the stalling speed rises with bank angle: 68 KIAS at 0°, 73 KIAS at 30°, 81 KIAS at 45° and 96 KIAS at 60°.
At 2300 kg (5071 lb) with gear and flaps UP the stalling speed at 60° of bank is 103 KIAS.
Sixty degrees of bank costs 28 knots at the light end of the table. Increasing mass from 1800 kg to 2300 kg costs five knots wings level — bank is by far the larger effect.
NOTE — The KIAS values may not be accurate at the stall.
